Make 16 street taco (or 8 standard size) tortillas
INGREDIENTS
3/4 cup hot water
1/2 tsp salt
2 cups all-purpose or gluten-free flour
2 tbsp avocado or olive oil
INSTRUCTIONS
In a small bowl, mix the salt into the hot water and stir until fully dissolved.
In a large mixing bowl, add 2 cups of flour and make a well in the center.
Pour in the oil and the hot water mixture.
Stir everything together until a soft dough starts to form.
Transfer the dough onto a clean countertop and knead for 3-5 minutes until it forms a smooth, non-sticky ball.
Cut the dough into equal portions, depending on the size tortillas you want. For mini street tacos, divide into about 12 small pieces.
Roll each portion into a thin circle.
Heat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat until it’s nice and hot.
Place a tortilla on the skillet and cook for 30-60 seconds per side, or until lightly browned and puffed.
Serve warm with your favorite fillings or toppings!
