Bloating
Why we experience bloating and constipation during a detox or diet change
Bloating, gas, and constipation are typically the most common detox symptoms for many reasons
1- Pre detox, most of the bacteria in your gut lining was probably not beneficial bacteria. Now that you're adding in healthier foods, you're body is pushing out bad bacteria and replacing it with good bacteria. If you're not using a high quality probiotic, now is the time. This is the probiotic I use and love.
2- You are consuming way more fiber than your used too. This can be a huge change for your body to handle. Over time, it will adjust and just know it's a good thing. You want your body to adjust to all that fiber.
3- You’re Not Drinking Enough Water
We all know the power water has when it comes to healthy skin and beauty, but did you know the direct effects it has when fighting belly bloat? The more water you drink and better you stay hydrated, the less bloating you’re likely to deal with.
Dehydration slows down digestion and makes it harder to de-bloat. When your body tries to recover from being dehydrated, it holds on to excess water to prevent the situation from happening again and you might find yourself becoming constipated. This means that when you do finally drink more fluids, you’re likely to store them around your midsection and feel bloated.
So drink up! You should aim to drink 1/2 your body weight in ounces of water daily.
